This is the first abstract painting that I have done in a while and became a whole series.

These colorful paintings are so fun to do, I look forward to each and every one. In 2021, I did thirteen of them!

This painting is done on stretched canvas and is #001 in my Colored Shapes with Black series. I paint beyond the edge, completely covering all sides with color. You can hang Starship without a frame for a minimalist look. When a painting is completed, I spray it lightly with clear, protective acrylic for a durable finish that will last for centuries.

For this series, I sketched out the basic lines in pencil, filled in with color, then outlined in black. Some people say this piece looks like a big eye with long lashes but to me, it is a spaceship flying by the stars, moon, galaxies, and black holes.
